3 Free Video Examples For Real Estate Agent Success

If you're thinking about recording more short-form videos, today is the day you stop procrastinating!  Start by checking out this quote from Mark Russell:

"Being a writer is procrastinating for three hours and then getting annoyed when someone interrupts you." Hahahaha!

Switch "human" for "writer," and you may have just described yourself (written by a recovering procrastinator 😉).  Can you relate?

So, let's look at three simple and FREE ways to create short-form videos, as suggested by Katie Lance, that you can post on social media to get more engagement from your real estate leads and audience.  2023 is going to be your year in video!  Let's go!

Use Your Life as Content For Short-Form Videos

Get personal with your audience and record short videos about what's happening in and around your life.  For example, let's say you're going to host an open house.  You're at the open house 30 minutes early to open the drapes, turn on all the lights, and do any last-minute touch-ups.

Did you know that many sellers don't know what you do to prepare during those few minutes before the start of an open house?  Shed some light on the subject by recording how dark a room is, followed by a brighter room once you've opened the drapes and turned the lights on.  Show them how you visit each bathroom to touch up the counters and mirrors, so they're spotless.  Heck, video what you include in your open house kit -- highly absorbent rags, dusters, and cleaning supplies.

Talk Quickly

Get to the point!  You want to get to the point and talk quickly when recording a video.  No dilly-dallying!  Think about what the main point of your video is.  Do you want to tell them about contract contingencies?  Start your video with the juiciest information.

"You won't believe what the homebuyer's agent listed as a contingency!"

You've got their attention!  Now, quickly talk about what contingency is and what it means.  Stick to a 30-60 second video to grab and keep your audience's attention.

Experiment With Different Types of Video Content

On-The-Spot Videos

Does recording short-form video leave you uninspired?  Then it's time to start recording various types of video.  I'm talking about quick-tip videos that you shoot on the fly.  These are spontaneous videos of you at a home you're selling, at your favorite restaurant ("have you seen these cannolis!?), walking on the beach, or doing charity work, for example.

"I'm outside this home I'm selling in Bozeman, and I'm thrilled to see how the owners tidied up the yard before the open house.  Check this out (as you pan over the yard)!"

Voiceover Videos

A voiceover video is also great for sharing information with your social media followers.  In a voiceover video, you aren't on the screen (phew!).  If recording videos is new to you or you want to try something different, record a visual on your phone, then add a voiceover to describe what you want the audience to know about it.  For example, record a recently installed closet organization system and then record your voice over it.

"You have to see this closet makeover!  This closet organization kit only costs $24.99 (quick shot of it), and the homeowner can store almost two times what she had in here before.  The best part, it looks like the closet was decluttered, but we only got rid of five things (pan up and down, side to side).  Yep, just five things!  I'm buying one for myself and everyone in my family!  How about you?!"

Green Screen Videos

Need even more variety when recording short-form videos?  Use a green screen for your next video.  Put a snapshot of a recently emailed market report in the background and superimpose yourself over the top.  You can point behind you as you explain the report highlights, remind followers that they can receive a copy from you each month, and how to sign up for it.  More real estate leads are coming your way!

"I want to share a few secrets.  Whether you want to buy or sell a house, you'll want to be in the know about what's happening in the local housing market.  Did you hear about the house over on Lyndale that sold for $29,000 over the asking price?  The homeowner made a huge profit!  Did you know I have 42 people looking for houses to buy, but inventory is really low?  See this number (pointing to your report)?  Only 12 houses are for sale in the area, and 8 are over $1 million.  Not in my homebuyer's budget!  If you're thinking about selling your home or buying a home, let's crunch some numbers and get moving!  You can reach me at this phone number or email (pointing to your contact info on the report).  Talk to you soon!"

Conclusion

Grab your smartphone and have fun recording short-form videos for your real estate leads using the variety of suggestions illustrated above.  You can create short videos for social media for free and use Canva or Capcut to edit your videos.  Share at least three short-form videos each week, get to the point quickly, and remember that "done is better than perfect" (Katie Lance).  Besides sharing these short-form videos on social media, you can include them in text messages, emails, and your website. Please share a link to one of your short-form videos in the comments.  We can't wait to see what you've created!
