5 Social Media Ideas You Can Create in 15 Minutes or Less

Connect with your real estate clients and followers on social media by taking 15 minutes to create a series of posts that you can use for multiple weeks of content. Same-themed social media posts completed in one sitting will save you time and drive engagement. Forget about being perfect. Focus on being relevant as a real estate agent on social media, and you'll consistently connect with your clients and leads.

Inspirational Posts

  • Quote
  • Room makeover photo
  • Beautifully staged room

I love inspirational quotes and make time to share them with clients every week. You can quickly add your favorite quotes to Canva's "Motivational" templates and then share them on social media. Photographs of a room makeover or staged room can inspire home sellers and buyers.

Low-Cost Home Improvement Tips

  • New lighting fixtures
  • New knobs & pulls on drawers & cabinets
  • Large area rug over ugly wall-to-wall carpeting

Whether you're working with home buyers or sellers, providing low-cost home improvement tips is helpful. You could create a graphic with a stock image of an outdated light fixture next to a picture of a modern fixture (try VistaCreate for free). Add a small amount of text to the image ("before and after") and then add a description within the social media platform. If you're taking your own photos, get more from your time by taking close-ups and wide shots that you can use in multiple posts (ex. photo of the entire bathroom, close up of lighting fixtures, close up of drawer pulls). On Facebook, for example, explain how small changes can improve the home's value and make a positive impression on guests.

Record 5 Short Videos (30 seconds - 2 minutes)

  • New listing videos shot on site
  • Walk the neighborhood videos
  • Answers to common client questions

When you take the time to record one video, you might as well record 5-6 in succession to make the most of your time. When you're at a new listing or one of your open houses, get permission from the seller to shoot 30-second to 1-minute videos of your favorite rooms and views that will capture your followers' attention. TIP: After recording a video, shoot some casual photos different from those on the MLS that you can use for even more engagement.

  • Photo of the view from your deck
  • 1-minute video of you making breakfast
  • Photo of dinner at a favorite restaurant
  • Photo or video of an evening walk on the beach

Your followers will feel more connected to you when they get a glimpse of your life outside of real estate. Snap a photo of the view from your house at sunset. Record a short video while making breakfast, shaving, or putting on your makeup. Record a 20-second video of what you see on your morning walk (ex., flowers, views, animals). Without giving away too much personal information (ex., your children's names), your followers will feel like they know you and engage more with your social media posts.

Favorite Blogger/Podcaster

  • Screenshot of favorite blogger/podcaster
  • Words of encouragement from blogger
  • How the blog/podcast has positively impacted your life

Snap a screenshot of your favorite blogger or podcaster, and share it on social media with a link and brief description of why you follow them. Focus on things that might help you connect with your followers (ex., financial advice) and ask for their comments and questions. You never know when you might make a connection with a follower who loves the same podcast. Consider asking followers to share their favorite podcast and why they love it to stimulate more conversation.

Conclusion

Real estate is all about relationships, and taking a little bit of time to share creative posts on social media is a great way to connect with more people. Try at least 2 of the social media content suggestions in this article and increase the bond with your followers. Next week try two more of the content ideas. Set your Pomodoro timer for 15 minutes, and get after it! Share a few of your creations (or links) in the comments. I can't wait to see what you create!
