Instagram Live Video Boosts ROI & Engages Leads

By Janelle D. 2 min read | Lead Nurturing

To impress and engage your real estate leads and customers, create live videos on Instagram! Live video boosts ROI and garners more interest from your followers than a blog post or an image ever could. Let’s get started!

Use Instagram videos to show your personality, share unique stories,

introduce your team, share listings, events, etc.

  1. Decide on the type of video content you want to share
  2. Make an eye-catching opener
  3. Smile as you talk
  4. Make an outro that looks like the opener and include your contact info

The first few seconds of your Instagram video will determine whether or not a viewer will want to engage and keep watching, so make sure it grabs their attention. Your goal is to get the viewer to stop scrolling and click on your video. Try using bright colors, movement, and text at the beginning of your video.

You can go live on Instagram for 60 minutes but

shorter videos (under 3 minutes) get more engagement.

Let your personality shine as you present yourself live on Instagram. Smile, follow an outline or loose script, and talk to the viewer like you would speak to a friend.

Keep the video short and add a cliffhanger at the end to leave the viewer wanting more. For example, if you share a video of a beautiful bathroom, you might want to tell them to “stay tuned for my next video because you’ll want to see how incredible the kitchen is!”.

TIP: Use a similar intro and outro to keep your videos cohesive.

New Instagram features will make it even easier to broadcast a professional live video.

Practice Mode (coming soon)

In the past, going live with Instagram videos meant the moment you started your video, you were in front of your audience. With Instagram’s new “practice mode” feature, you can do a few things behind the scenes after going live, but before anyone sees you. This mode gives you time to make sure you and your setup look and sound great. Guests can still join the video even though you haven’t started broadcasting.

Scheduling Feature

You can give your audience up to 90 days advanced notice of your live video through Instagram’s scheduling feature. Get them excited about a “coming soon” listing, an open house, or a big event like the Parade of Homes. Most creators will use this feature to notify viewers the day before or 30-60 minutes before a live broadcast. Your audience will be notified when you create the scheduled event.

Save and Share “Live” Videos

Save your live Instagram videos so you can continue to use them for engagement. At the end of your live Instagram broadcast, simply tap “download video” on your phone. Now you can share your video on Facebook and other social media platforms and get more lead engagement.

If recording live Instagram videos is new for you, it’s helpful to introduce them on other social media feeds where you already have a lot of followers. You’ll grow your audience faster when you cross-post your videos from Instagram to Facebook or other platforms.

Metrics

Metrics are essential any time you create content, as they shed light on how your followers are engaging with your Instagram live videos. With an Instagram business or creator account, you can take advantage of “insights” to gather information about engagement. Metrics for live videos show you the number of comments and shares, the number of accounts you reached with your video.

Conclusion

Instagram live videos are a great way to show off your personality, promote your business, and educate your audience about what you offer as a real estate agent. Create a vibrant and catchy intro to get the viewer to click on your video and include a cliffhanger at the end to encourage them to come back for more. Remember to download live videos to reuse them in the future and on other social media platforms. Take out your phone and start recording! I can’t wait to see what you create! Share your Instagram handle in the comments so we can check out your video creations.
